About Candy

Candy is a delightful 9-month-old puppy weighing 12 pounds, and her personality matches her sweet name. While her exact breed mix remains a mystery, she likely has Schnauzer, Silky Terrier, and Yorkshire Terrier in her lineage. With her scruffy face and expressive eyes, she’s bound to win you over at first glance. Rescued from abandonment, Candy's journey to finding a loving home is both heartwarming and inspiring. A compassionate woman who had previously assisted our rescue came to her aid and couldn’t leave her behind. Candy arrived matted and uncomfortable, but after a shave, she's on her way to sporting a lovely coat with some regular grooming. This little lovebug is always by your side, whether cuddling on the couch or playing with toys. Candy’s playful spirit shines through her energetic, affectionate nature. Like any puppy, she’s still mastering potty training and basic commands, but with a dedicated family, she will flourish. Candy is friendly with dogs and would thrive as an only dog to soak up all the affection she can get. She’s received her age-appropriate vet care including vaccinations, and while she hasn’t yet been spayed, that procedure is set to happen through Roots Rescue. Interested adopters can welcome her into their family before her surgery, with the understanding that they will return her to the vet as scheduled for her spay. Candy is eagerly waiting for a forever home, or a family willing to foster-to-adopt while she completes her vet care. If you feel a connection with this adorable pup, reach out today!
