About Duke
Meet Duke, a young orange tabby with a personality that cannot be ignored. This medium-sized cat has strong opinions and a low tolerance for nonsense, making it clear he won't pretend to be someone else. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Duke spent time in a shelter where he didn’t shine and expressed his displeasure regarding handling, particularly when it came to getting into carriers. Duke prefers gentle strokes in the direction of his fur rather than against it, and while scratching is generally off-limits, a brief scratch around the ears might be acceptable for him. Intriguingly, belly rubs can sometimes earn a pass, but don't be surprised if he concludes play with a subtle bite. He naps in a dramatic fashion, occasionally with his tongue poking out and maintains a suspicious disdain for brooms and mops. Best suited for an adopter who understands cat body language and respects boundaries, Duke is no cuddly lap cat. He thrives in calm surroundings, ideally away from small children and aggressive cleaning supplies. In return, he offers a lively presence, humorous charm, and the possibility of loyal companionship once trust is built. Give Duke a chance, and you might just find a loyal friend who appreciates the art of boundaries. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let's get started.
