About Jake
Meet Jake! Jake has quite the sad story, and we're hoping for his happy ending. Adopted in early 2017, his life took a turn when his mom passed away, leaving him in the care of an unknown person. He was found as a stray in the summer of 2026, in very poor condition. Now, Jake is ready to find a true forever home to enjoy his golden years. As a senior, he does have some medical needs we want to be transparent about. He has two cysts—one on his eye and another on his right rear leg—though they pose no health concerns. His dental health suffered from neglect, resulting in the removal of most of his teeth, but he still eats both dry and wet food without any issues. Jake also has Cushing’s disease, which requires a daily pill and monitored bloodwork. Thankfully, his meds are effective, and he has regained his healthy demeanor, especially impressive for a 14-year-old! Jake is good with dogs, cats, and kids. He is gentle, loving, and appreciates the simple things in life, like meals and affection. He is crate trained and housebroken, but be prepared for an early riser—he'll bark at 6 am to wake you up! He likely doesn’t need a crate but can use one if his new family prefers. Despite the ups and downs in his life, Jake's tail never stops wagging, and he always looks forward to seeing his people. Please consider giving this deserving old man a chance.
