About Hyper

Hyper is a stunning one-year-old female German Shepherd mix. She arrived at the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley on September 25, 2026, after being found by Good Samaritans on State Route 821 near Lower Salem, Ohio. Not wearing a collar and without a microchip, she's in search of her forever home. This lovely girl has a sleek black-and-tan coat, a long tail, and a distinct German Shepherd face. Her brown eyes, tan mask, and large, erect ears add to her charm, though her left ear has a slightly semi-erect look that gives her character. Hyper is full of energy and possesses a playful, outgoing personality. She's quite the escape artist, earning her the title of "Houdini" among the staff for her knack for getting out of crates. During her adventures, Hyper showed remarkable curiosity about her surroundings, eagerly observing passing cars and keeping a keen eye on our shelter cats. While she seemed intrigued by them, her true intentions remain a mystery. This sweetheart weighs approximately 49 lbs and, once she expends some energy, shows she can 'sit pretty' on command. Currently, Hyper is awaiting adoption, having to comply with a three-day stray hold in accordance with Ohio law, giving her original family a chance to reclaim her.
