Meet Malouk. Malouk is a gentle 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd looking for a loving home. After being surrendered when his owner passed away, he’s ready to receive the care he truly deserves. This sweet senior navigates life with resilience despite being blind, finding joy in simple pleasures like walks, naps, and, of course, lots of treats. Every now and then, he shows a playful spark that will warm your heart. He thrives in a calm, low-key environment, making him ideal for a peaceful home. While he can happily live alone, he also gets along well with calm dogs and cats who are understanding of his blindness. Malouk is incredibly friendly with people, including kids, and brings a gentle presence wherever he goes. Though he experiences some anxiety due to his blindness, he benefits from calming medication and feels most secure in a consistent environment. Crate trained, Malouk finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while left alone. He is potty trained but will need continued leash training, especially when excited or unsure.
