Meet Coco, a sweet 10-year-old Chihuahua in Clovis, California. She’s searching for a patient family that can help her regain her confidence and feel loved once more. Coco can be a bit shy at first and is still mastering leash skills, but daily improvement is part of her journey. When she relaxes, her delightful personality shines through. She knows how to sit for her meals, and will gently paw at you for attention. One of her favorite activities is lounging on the couch and snuggling with her people. Having come to us as a stray, it's clear Coco was once part of a loving home. She's smart, understands routines, and is adapting well to foster care. While she’s doing great with regular potty breaks, she’s not fully housetrained yet. Grooming can make her nervous, so she’ll benefit from a calm and patient groomer. Coco does exhibit some food guarding behavior around humans and other pets. To keep things smooth, we recommend feeding her separately and allowing her some quiet time after she's done. She doesn't strive for perfection; she just needs someone who understands that building confidence takes time and patience.
