About Flora
Meet Flora! Are you ready to help a timid dog find her place in a loving home? Flora is a 2-year-old, 17-pound Cockapoo who is still figuring out what it means to be a cherished family pet. Life hasn’t always been easy for her; she didn’t have the chance to enjoy her puppy days, but she’s gradually discovering joy at her own pace. Flora is shy and sensitive. She’s making great strides, learning to play with toys and engage with her environment. Watching her tail wag as she plays chase with her foster sibling is truly heartwarming. However, she still feels uncertain around people, especially when they stand or move towards her. Her ideal family will need to understand that building trust takes time—Flora won’t rush into your arms immediately, and that’s perfectly fine. Potty training is going well, and she knows to do her business outside. Coming back indoors after breaks can be tricky for her, but she’s adjusting with patience. Flora is also working on her leash skills and feels more secure in a harness. Having a confident dog around has immensely helped her, so a friendly canine companion in her forever home could aid her further. She tolerates grooming well and allows her foster family to bathe, brush, and trim her nails—she just needs people who respect her boundaries and help her build trust over time. One adorable quirk? Flora prefers to eat in the quiet of the night. She may skip meals during the day, but once it’s calm, she eagerly digs in. Flora isn’t seeking perfection; she wants a family filled with patience who will celebrate her small victories. With time, she will show her delightful personality, including those sweet puppy kisses we know she has inside. Flora is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
