About Dante

Meet Dante! Dante's journey began in rough circumstances. When he was found near a busy street, he was frightened, emaciated, and limping, having evidently been hit by a car. After being on his own for too long, he needed urgent care, and thankfully, he was safely trapped and rushed for medical attention. That was back in July. Today, Dante is well on the path to recovery. His foster mom has completely fallen for this gentle boy. He is gaining weight and confidence, starting to grasp what it feels like to be cared for, though he remains a bit timid. Inside his foster home, he's becoming more comfortable, showing he's housetrained and kennel trained. He’s food motivated and slowly learning that home is a good place to be. He hasn’t shown much interest in toys just yet, but we celebrate the fact that he is learning to relax. Dante interacts quite well with other dogs and has met a cat, staying respectful after a gentle swat from the feline. Given his leg injury, Dante isn’t looking for a hiking partner; instead, he seeks a home with a cozy couch and a peaceful environment. Long walks are not in his plans until he fully heals. What Dante truly needs is patience, kindness, and a peaceful home. He would thrive best in an adult household where he can continue building his confidence without pressure. Dante is ready to show you his progress; he just needs someone to guide him safely into the next chapter of his life.
