Meet Lucy! This gentle almost seven-year-old Chihuahua is in Long Beach, CA. Sporting a golden coat with sweet white accents, Lucy weighs in at just 18 pounds. Though small in size, she requires time and patience to trust new people. Naturally timid and skittish, Lucy needs a few weeks to settle with unfamiliar faces; people who understand canine body language will resonate with her best. Once she welcomes you into her trusted circle, her affectionate nature shines. A dedicated lapdog, she enjoys spending quiet days cuddled up with her favorite person. Lucy knows sit and shake, is house-trained, and has been through formal obedience training. While she is typically low-energy, loud noises or storms can trigger her anxiety, so a peaceful environment is essential for her comfort. Keep in mind, Lucy can guard her resources. She may growl or nip if approached too quickly and requires a calm, adult-only home where she can be the only pet. A fenced yard is needed as well; she should not live with dogs, cats, or young children. Lucy is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and she enjoys a daily Dentastix for dental wellness. Although she has a history of seizures, her condition is under veterinary supervision, and she’s not currently on daily medication.
