Meet Max! Nearly 11 years young and weighing 62 lbs, Max is a Black Labrador Retriever who reminds us that age is just a number when you still have some spunk in your soul. After over a decade with one family, they could no longer care for him, giving Max a second chance to find a forever home. When he arrived at The Animal Pad, Max had a severe skin condition that has since been beautifully treated by our vet. Now he is looking shiny and ready for a new chapter in his life. Max is affectionate and loves being around his people. He thrives as a work-from-home companion but can comfortably stay alone without destructive behavior or separation anxiety. Despite his graying muzzle, Max loves his walks, enjoys toys, and gets excited when greeted. He can be a bit vocal when he thinks he’s being ignored, showcasing his charming personality. Max recently recovered from TPLO surgery for a torn CCL and has bounced back, ready to enjoy life. He’s great with dogs and shares his space with four foster siblings of various sizes. Max is wonderful with children, house trained, and adapts quickly to new environments. While we don’t know if he gets along with cats, careful introductions would be best.
