Collage is a small, 2-year-old spayed female Chihuahua mix, currently in Eureka, CA. She's up to date on vaccinations. While she may seem shy, with time and patience, she can thrive in a loving home. About Collage

Collage is a 2-year-old female Chihuahua mix who came to us after being surrendered from a home with more than 20 small dogs. When she first arrived, her timid nature was apparent; she displayed fear but allowed handling during intake. Our volunteers have worked diligently with her, and although she remains shy, she can be picked up and carried by familiar faces. In her outdoor enclosure, Collage prefers to stay towards the back and close to the ground when she feels unsure. She doesn't currently seek out human contact, but she responds well to familiar volunteers. Leash walks are new to her, and she uses patience to navigate this unfamiliar experience. A friendly canine companion could be beneficial for her, helping build her confidence and comfort. We’re looking for an adopter experienced with fearful or unsocialized dogs, someone who can let her take the lead in her journey to trust. She's good with cats, but her behavior around children is uncertain, so introductions must be approached gently.
