Meet Mercury! This sweet boy is ready to find someone to show him just how wonderful life can be. At just 1 year old, Mercury is a mix of Shiba Inu, Pit Bull, and Chihuahua, weighing about 24 pounds. He’s fully grown but still learning to navigate the world around him. Mercury is quite timid, and new places can feel a bit overwhelming for him. With time, patience, and gentle encouragement, he’s beginning to warm up to our staff. His future family will need to be understanding as he continues to grow more comfortable in his environment. While he's not yet potty trained, his new family should be prepared to work with him – consistency and understanding will be key as he explores this new routine. A safe and secure space without the worry of escape is important for him to build confidence. A family that understands Mercury’s sensitive nature will help him discover that love can be a safe space. Mercury deserves someone who respects his boundaries and can celebrate his little victories. If you have patience and an open heart, he might be the perfect match for you! Come meet Mercury at Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon, IL, and help him find his forever home.
