Meet Buttercup! This sweet Shih Tzu recently arrived at AFRP from San Jose Animal Services needing some TLC. After a thorough groom and wellness exam, she's all set to find her forever home! Buttercup is a true cuddle buddy who thrives on companionship. She loves curling up next to her favorite person and follows you around the house, always eager to be by your side. If you’re looking for joy, look no further than her cheerful trot, which brings smiles to everyone she meets. This social dog enjoys the company of other pups but is truly happiest when around her human companions. She hasn’t met a lap she hasn’t claimed as hers. While we're still learning about her, Buttercup does have diminished hearing, likely due to a past injury. However, this hasn’t affected her playful spirit. With some patience and training—assisted by a fantastic trainer—we believe she can adjust well. She would thrive in a home with an understanding adopter or another dog buddy to help her feel secure. Buttercup has been great with other dogs and has been exposed to cats, but her diminished hearing makes a cat-free home the best option for her. She’d flourish in a household with adult adopters or families with dog-savvy kids over six.
