Meet Agatha, an affectionate German Shepherd mix who truly embodies her name. At around 2-3 years old and weighing approximately 45 pounds, Agatha has a calm demeanor and a loving spirit. This medium-sized girl walks calmly on a leash and stays close by your side, making her a wonderful companion for daily adventures. Agatha is not just gentle; she’s also smart. She understands many commands and comes out of her crate quietly and politely. She has shown a relaxed attitude around other dogs but is still being assessed with cats, so a home without them may be best for now. Agatha's backstory is one of resilience. Found abandoned on a mountainside in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, she was searching for a familiar place when she caught my eye. I couldn’t leave her behind in the rain, so I brought her to safety. Although Agatha tested positive for heartworm, her treatment has already begun. Upshot Dog Rescue will cover her heartworm treatment and will assist with transport to a foster home or forever family in the States.
