Meet Dr. Temperance Brennan, affectionately known as Mama Tempe! Mama Tempe arrived at our rescue as a very pregnant stray from Bemidji. Just days later, she gave birth to the adorable “bones” litter, all of whom have since found their forever homes. Now it’s Mama's turn to shine. Estimated to be around 3 years old, Mama Tempe may have a mixed heritage, but her charm and sweetness shine through. She adores affection and loves being close to her people. She gets along well with other dogs and has been a delightful presence in her foster home. Her journey hasn't been without challenges. A few months into rescue, Mama tested positive for Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, and heartworm. After months of treatment, she’s still scheduled for another round of heartworm treatment at the end of this month. Despite everything, she has maintained her gentle and loving spirit.
