This 2.5-year-old, 70-pound neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier mix is currently in foster care in Austin, Texas, but he can transport out of state once an approved adopter is in place. Frankie's journey hasn't been easy. He and his sister were left behind, tied up in the yard of an elderly man, and it's clear they’ve faced challenges. Since arriving in foster care, he has started to discover the warmth that comes from loving humans. At first glance, he may seem shy, but once he feels secure, his affectionate personality shines through. He enjoys being close to people he trusts without demanding attention, and he's learning to engage in play with other large dogs in his foster home—sometimes even joining in tug-of-war. Frankie's cautious nature extends to new humans, and he thrives in a calm environment where he can slowly build trust. While he hasn't met cats or children, his gentle demeanor suggests he’d do well with older kids who understand how to respect boundaries. He needs a patient home where he can feel safe and secure as he gains confidence.
