Hot Honey is currently in a loving foster home. This gentle three-year-old brindle hound mix made a journey from Kentucky after her family had to surrender her. She arrived a little underweight at 37 pounds, but she’s on the mend, gaining healthy weight while showing off her sweet, demure personality. Hot Honey is not one to demand attention. Instead, she observes the world with soulful eyes and finds comfort in the company of others while maintaining her calm demeanor. During playgroups, she’s more of a co-exister, happily sharing space with other dogs without needing to be the star of the show. A shy but devoted companion, she warms up to new people slowly, preferring to take her time getting acquainted. Her foster brings friends over, and once she feels comfortable, she showers them with affection. She’s great with kids, showing a gentle nature that makes her a perfect companion for families. Hot Honey is housebroken and still refining her potty training during walks, though she's very excited to explore the world around her. Crate trained and content to hang out there, she has a cozy setup in her foster home. With a moderate energy level, she enjoys walks and the occasional game of fetch, even if she’s not keen on bringing the ball back. Currently, she’s being treated for heartworm disease, a common condition in dogs from warmer climates. Don't worry—it’s treatable, and her treatment is fully supported by the shelter.
