About Janine

Janine is a delightful tortoiseshell female kitten born on May 12, 2026. She arrived at Edgar & Ivy's Cat Sanctuary when she was just four weeks old, alongside her mother and two siblings, having suffered from a severe case of feline herpes virus. With dedicated medical care and lots of love, Janine made a remarkable recovery despite some scarring on one of her eyes—this doesn’t hinder her vision or diminish her lively spirit. While Janine will remain a lifelong carrier of the virus, similar cases in cats often lead to only mild symptoms during stressful moments. It's important to note that feline herpes is common in the feline world; it can't be transmitted to people or dogs. Most vaccinated cats manage life happily with this condition, often without their families even knowing. Janine is now a playful, affectionate little girl eager for a loving indoor home where she can thrive. She has so much to offer and deserves a family that sees her for the amazing companion she is. Completely spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and house trained, Janine is ready to find her forever home. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
