About Redd

Redd is a happy, goofy boy who has been given a second chance, and we are so grateful he was surrendered instead of euthanized. After an incident involving a neighbor's dog, Redd's previous owners had to choose between euthanization or surrendering him to AWF, and thankfully, they chose the latter. This decision allows Redd to find a home that understands him and is willing to help him succeed. He is affectionate, loyal, and intelligent, always ready for his next adventure. Redd knows how to sit, takes treats nicely, and walks on a leash—he even catches treats like a pro! Playtime is where he truly shines; he adores balls and stuffies, and he's always eager to stay active with his people. His wonderfully goofy side is sure to bring laughter to your home. You'll be delighted to know that Redd will even jump on a trampoline with the kids! Redd gets along well with children of all ages and is a testament to the joy a dog can bring. He is house trained, can keep his kennel clean, and has a solid foundation of skills. While his excitement sometimes makes him jumpy and forget his manners, continued training and positive reinforcement will help him channel his enthusiasm appropriately. When it comes to other dogs, Redd is selective; he enjoys the company of female dogs but can be particular about his male counterparts. He has felt stressed in the shelter environment, and thoughtful introductions will be key. His new family should be ready to advocate for him and understand that he doesn't need to be friends with every dog he meets. Redd would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard, daily exercise, structure, and people who appreciate an active, playful companion.
