His favorite activities include playing fetch and tug-of-war, so he's definitely looking for a family that can keep up with his playful spirit. Jack has faced some challenges in his early life. He was heartworm positive when he arrived at the rescue but has since triumphed over that and is now heartworm-free. Recently, we discovered that he is diabetic and requires insulin injections twice a day. Luckily, administering insulin is straightforward, and he manages it like a pro. His new family should be comfortable sticking to a consistent schedule for his meals and medications. Though he may have occasional accidents in his kennel, he generally keeps it clean. As a typical Australian Shepherd, Jack is intelligent and energetic, always curious about his surroundings. He needs a secure 6-foot fence to keep him safe, as he has a tendency to run if given the chance. To help him find the best match, we are waiving Jack's adoption fee.
