Meet Onyx, a charming six-month-old German Shepherd mix with a unique story. At about 33 pounds, she’s the perfect blend of a big-dog personality without taking up all the space. Her sleek coat, which is a shade of 'midnight elegance,' ensures she won’t leave your home looking like a cotton candy factory exploded. What makes her truly special is the fact that Onyx is a tripod. She had a tough start with a severe leg injury before joining us, resulting in amputation. Despite this, Onyx is incredibly resilient and approaches life with a joyful spirit, as if every day is a celebration. She possesses the heart of a teddy bear, ready to share love and cuddles with her new family. Onyx thrives in the company of other dogs, often acting as the 'life of the party.' She is playful and loves to socialize, making her an excellent companion. While she’s still figuring out her feelings towards cats—curious but not yet aggressive—she has done well with children, especially her foster's teenager. Onyx can be a bit shy with newcomers but warms up when given a moment. Her energy level is moderate; she enjoys a good play session but is equally at home snuggling on the couch. Potty training is progressing well, and she’s kennel trained without any issues. Onyx is looking for a patient home that understands she’s still getting her bearings after surgery.
