Meet Josie, affectionately known as "Baby Dog." This spayed female Chihuahua is 5 years old and weighs around 8 pounds. Josie has a gentle spirit and is starting to realize that her new world can be warm and friendly. She has been shy and skittish but is making impressive strides in her foster home. Trust takes time for her; once earned, she shows her delightful personality more openly. Josie loves being around her people and is becoming quite affectionate. She enjoys cuddling beside her caregiver on the couch, and sometimes even curling up on their lap while they work. Though initially hesitant, she’s starting to exhibit a playful side as her confidence grows. This little lady would thrive with an adopter who understands her need for patience and the importance of allowing her to adjust at her own pace. In her previous home, Josie lived with other dogs and enjoyed their company. Having a confident canine companion could help her gain more comfort and confidence in her future home. Though she has been cautious about going outside, she is starting to make progress in that area, venturing out more often. Josie is crate trained and sleeps well in her crate at night. However, she also appreciates the option to snuggle in bed if that suits your lifestyle better. This sweet little dog carries a big heart and is waiting for someone who is ready to invest the time and love she needs.
