Max's story is a heartbreaking one. He is currently at Kimmys Safe Haven Rescue. He was adopted as a puppy, only to be abandoned in New York City. When he arrived at Kimmy's Safe Haven Rescue, he was frightened, confused, and clearly carrying the effects of a difficult past. Despite everything he has been through, Max is still a young dog with so much potential. He is a gentle soul looking for a kind, patient, and loving home where he can finally feel safe and secure. Max can be fearful in new situations and around unfamiliar surroundings, but once he gets to know you, he begins to warm up and show his sweet personality. Kimmy's Safe Haven Rescue has not observed any aggressive behaviors from Max. What he needs most is someone willing to give him time, patience, and understanding as he learns to trust again. We truly believe that if Max is placed in the right home, he will continue to build confidence, learn to trust, and come out of his shell. With love, consistency, and patience, this sweet boy has the potential to become a wonderful companion. Max is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and ready to find the family he deserves
