About Dutton

Meet Dutton. Dutton is a charming 6-year-old German Shepherd ready to leave his shelter life behind and embrace a loving home. He arrived at a Maryland shelter under unknown circumstances, but he’s eager to step into a fresh new chapter. This handsome boy has a playful personality and enjoys toys and outdoor adventures. Food motivates him, which will help build a strong bond and support training efforts. While Dutton has successfully interacted with a female dog, showing good compatibility, he can be protective of his resources like toys and his bed. It’s important for his future family to understand his needs and set appropriate boundaries. Dutton met our office cat, Tony, without any issues, which signifies he can coexist with other pets. Although Dutton may appear aloof at first, he warms up to those who take the time to gain his trust, becoming a loyal companion once connections are made. He is looking for a shepherd-savvy family who understands the breed's nuances, respecting his space and allowing him to adjust at his own pace. Despite being an older gentleman, Dutton is full of life, love, and companionship. If you're experienced with shepherds and ready for a unique bond, Dutton might be your perfect match. Give him a chance to show you his heart and the love he has to share! What are you waiting for? Apply today!
