Meet Gertie! Gertie is a petite Miniature Poodle who has had a tough past but is discovering the joys of home life. At 6 years old and weighing in at 6.4 lbs, she is still a bit shy but has quickly learned one of the favorite parts of being a family dog: cuddling! Gertie loves to be close to her people and happily seeks out affection. As she continues to adjust, Gertie is still learning how to navigate life outside of her previous environment. She is not yet leash trained and is in the process of potty training. To help her gain confidence, Gertie will need a secure fenced yard and another friendly dog around to guide her. Gertie needs a patient adopter who can appreciate her gentle nature and give her the time she needs to blossom. She's come a long way already, showing more of her sweet personality each day.
