Ace is a charming little guy, weighing about 5.5 pounds and showcasing a lovely mix of Papillon and Chihuahua traits. Born in January 2019, this 7-year-old has had his share of challenges, having been rescued from difficult circumstances. Ace blends beautifully the sweetness of his nature with a shy demeanor, so it takes him some time to feel secure and warm up to new faces. Once he's comfortable, you'll find him eager to be in your lap, following you around, or snuggling with you in bed—belly rubs are his favorite! His past home had multiple larger dogs that left him feeling anxious, but he's growing more confident with gentle encouragement. A quieter environment would suit him best since he does not appreciate being alone for long periods. Though Ace has experienced some accidents indoors, he is house-trained and prefers to go outside when possible. He’s also crate trained and travels quietly in his crate. Ace enjoys simple games, like fetch, and he's learned some basic commands, although leash walking is still new territory for him. Ace is friendly with cats and can coexist with other dogs, especially if they give him space. However, he’s not suited for homes with small children.
