About River
Meet River, a seasoned shepherd with a sweet demeanor. She was abandoned at Rouge Park but has landed safely in the care of Peace Love and Paws Rescue, eager to find her forever home. River is a calm, loving girl who enjoys her herding balls. Throw one her way, and she’ll bring it back every time. When playtime's over, she knows how to settle down. She's well-trained, knowing commands like sit, down, paw, and heel, and is immaculate with her potty habits. She’s comfortable in her crate and doesn’t chew on anything that isn’t hers. While she’s independent, River thrives in your company and will follow you from room to room, waiting patiently when asked to stay. She’s great with older kids and has been respectful around other dogs, though small pets aren't ideal for her. River's charming personality even includes some quirkiness; she’s suspicious of ceiling fans with lights and prefers to steer clear of them. Currently, she’s on heartworm treatment, so her exercise is limited for a few months. This senior sweetheart dreams of a quiet home where she can be the star of the show, sharing her heart with a loving family. Ready to make River part of your family?
