About Picciola "Peachie" Katy

Picciola "Peachie" Katy is a gentle soul who’s on the mend before she can officially find her forever home. At around 9 years old, this sweet Italian Greyhound has plenty of spunk. While she finishes her annual medical care, inquiries are welcome. Peachie needs a special living situation: an adult home with a confident Italian Greyhound or small dog companion, and a private, securely fenced yard is a must. Community dog parks won’t do. Her ideal adopter will be patient and gentle, helping her build trust while being home most of the day or able to provide midday potty breaks. Applicants from Texas or Oklahoma will be preferred. Despite her age, she loves her daily walks and enjoys basking in the sun. Her very own comfy dog bed is her spot for watching the world go by, and although she can share a couch for snuggles, she typically sticks to her designated throne. Peachie gets along well with other small dogs and has managed well around larger ones, but she hasn’t been tested with cats. This thoughtful little lady takes her time to warm up to new people. While she gets along with her foster family, including her foster dad, she truly shines with her foster mom. Expect a gradual build in trust with treats to help her settle in. At night, Peachie sleeps soundly in her dog bed, though she's crate trained when necessary. With a steady and consistent routine, she’s housetrained, though new environments can throw her off. A private outdoor space where she can take her time is essential. As for her health, Peachie occasionally experiences a luxation of a toe, but it is not a source of ongoing pain and can be managed easily. Peachie is in search of a tender family that appreciates her independent spirit and will lovingly accompany her on her journey to feel safe and cherished. Ready to fall in love?
