Meet Toodles! This sweet boy has been waiting far too long for his forever home and is ready for a happy ending. Toodles is just over 1 year old and weighs around 48 lbs, making him the perfect medium-sized companion. He appears to be a Pittie/bully breed mix, and while this often carries a stigma, his affectionate nature shines through once he gets comfortable. Found wandering the streets of Texas, Toodles has been in a shelter since June, patiently waiting for someone to give him a chance. Initially shy, he warms up with kind words and patience, quickly becoming a devoted sidekick. His future family should be dedicated to helping him with basic obedience, potty training, and building his confidence, as transitioning into a home will be a big change for him. Toodles would thrive in a quieter household where he can gradually get used to new experiences. While he has limited exposure to children, we believe he can learn to be great with them, especially if they are older and understand his needs. Notably, Toodles has shown he can get along well with other dogs, which may help boost his confidence, but he is also fine as a solo companion. We recommend a cat-free home, as his behavior around cats is unknown, and he does not do well with chickens. He has already mastered leash walking, making him a fantastic candidate for neighborhood adventures and training sessions. While a securely fenced yard is ideal for him to play, Toodles could also thrive in an apartment if his daily exercise needs are met.
