Meet Cotton! This delightful Dachshund mix is around 2 years old and weighs about 15 pounds, making her the perfect companion size. While she's believed to be a mix of Dachshund and Beagle, her adorable "weenie dog" look is unmistakable. Cotton came to us from a small Arkansas shelter after having just given birth to seven puppies, who have all been placed in another rescue. Cotton is incredibly friendly and great with other dogs, as noted by her foster. They shared that she is sweet and loves meeting new people, eagerly bonding with everyone, including her male roommate. Initially a bit confused after her transition, she quickly showcased her affectionate nature by cuddling and even sharing the bed at night. Cotton thrives on companionship and will do well with anyone who is eager to spend quality time together. She adapts beautifully to various settings, whether it's a casual walk, a family picnic, or a trip to a dog-friendly venue. Cotton enjoys car rides, especially if they lead to new adventures. At night, a cozy spot next to you is her idea of a perfect ending. All potential adopters should know that Cotton requires positive reinforcement training. This helps ensure her success in her new home, and we can provide resources for trainers in your area. She's up-to-date on vaccinations and has been spayed. Cotton is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which is common in southern states. We've begun her treatment and will cover all associated costs until she is heartworm-free.
