Winston is a wonderfully sweet dog looking for a loving home. He came from a neglect situation and faced significant challenges; however, he has made remarkable progress in his foster home. Now, he is gaining weight and ready for a family that can spoil him with the care he deserves. Winston is affectionate and tends to be quite clingy with those he trusts. He has had experience living with both dogs and cats and currently shares his foster home with both. While he interacts well with all pets, his social skills need some polishing due to the challenges of his past. Winston has shown some tendencies to resource guard food and people, which should improve as he continues to heal. A family with knowledge of dog behavior will greatly help him relearn how to navigate relationships appropriately. Though slightly shy, Winston is starting to realize that he can rely on his new surroundings for love and care. He enjoys playing ball, wrestling with his doggy siblings, and loves full-body back scratches. He has quickly adapted to using a dog door and walks well on a leash.
