About Elsinore
Elsinore arrived from Oakland Animal Services in late August, but her journey began earlier when she caught our eye in July. At that point, she seemed a bit tired and withdrawn, lacking interest in interaction. After prioritizing another dog, it was finally time to focus on Elsinore, and we're so glad we did. This 4-year-old, 60-pound German Shepherd embodies an old soul, aptly inspired by her Shakespearian name. Leash walks are a breeze for her, though she doesn't know any basic commands yet. Elsinore is sharp, quickly adapting to the rhythms of a household and following along seamlessly. Fully house trained, she patiently waits to be let outside. She's friendly with dogs of all sizes and was even used as the playgroup test dog at the shelter. On walks, she acknowledges both dogs and cats with a glance but remains focused on her sniffing mission. Not a fan of being crated, Elsinore prefers sleeping near her humans, curling up into an adorable donut shape. She's respectful when it comes to food and toys, and is just starting to discover playtime—she'll pick up a toy, surprised by her own enjoyment. All Elsinore wants is a family and a cozy corner to relax in while you go about your day. She’s well beyond her puppy days, rides nicely in the car, and even enjoys attending soccer games and school walks, handling crowds like a champ.
