Hi there! My name is Maleah, but my foster mom calls me Leah for short. I am 8 months old and about 25 lbs. Not sure if I'll get a whole lot bigger, right now I'm just the perfect size pup for any home. When I first came to Wisconsin, I wasn't feeling the best. My foster mom took me to the vet and found that I was most likely bitten by the Lone Star Tick in the south at some point and contracted Erlichia, which caused my joints to ache and gave me a fever. I was put on antibiotics and was feeling like the puppy I am in no t)ime! The doc said I may or may not ever show symptoms in the future, but it is treated with simple antibiotics if it does. I live in a home with my foster mom and fur-sister. It took me a little bit to really warm up to my fur-sister, but now I follow her around wherever she goes and we love to play and run in the backyard (and in the house sometimes too!). I would love to have a fur-sister or brother that I can learn from, but I also love to get all of the human attention I can. I love to take walks and I am a perfect companion for short or long walks/runs. I do not pull at all and will stay right by your side. I don't jump on furniture unless I'm invited. I'm completely comfortable napping in my puppy bed or on a nice soft blanky. I sleep in my kennel at night and you won't hear a peep out of me, and I keep my kennel clean! In my current routine, we go outside right away when we get up in the morning and I take care of business quickly so I can come in and get some cuddles and eat breakfast. I'm doing great with my potty training too! Consistency is key for me to learn that outside is where we do our business. I have the best temperament ever for a young pup. I'm quiet, in fact I have not barked once since I've come to WI! I am very easy going and love to get attention and belly rubs whenever I can. I am skittish when I meet new people but warm up pretty quickly once they start showing me love. Thunderstorms don't bother me, but sometimes loud noises in the house will have me heading to my kennel, which is my safe place. I never chew on anything I'm not supposed to, but I do love a good antler or chew bone to keep me busy. I'm learning how to play with toys and there are tons of them at my fosters house. If you choose me, I can promise you that I will be your best friend and loyal companion for life.
