Ruby arrived at the shelter as a skinny stray, carrying the responsibility of raising nine healthy puppies. Now that her pups are all grown, it’s her turn to find a loving home and be the star of the show. This charming girl, at about 40 lbs, boasts a wiggly tail that sometimes playfully smacks her face. Imagine coming home to that joyful welcome each day! At just 2-1/2 years old, Ruby balances youthful energy with the calm demeanor often found in older dogs. In her foster home, she preferred leisurely strolls over quick runs, demonstrating her easygoing nature. She loves treat-filled toys and is happy to lounge nearby for belly rubs. Though a bit shy initially, Ruby is friendly and gentle, and her polite behavior shows she can sit and wait for her food. While she has had a few accidents due to not being able to signal when she needs out, she’s mostly housetrained. Ruby has lived with other animals, and while there were no kids in her previous home, her temperament suggests she could thrive in a home with children.
