About Axel

Axel is a lively Husky mix, full of personality and always ready for fun. He prances around during playgroups and often howls when something isn’t right, showing his playful side. However, he has some behavioral challenges that need addressing, particularly around resource guarding, especially with food and his people. He tends to be protective, especially of women and children, viewing them as something to guard, which has led to some bites out of concern for their safety. His past owners described him as a perfect dog, despite these issues, highlighting that he simply needs a responsible owner with time and resources to help him overcome them. Since returning to Jesse's Dog Rescue, Axel has shown signs of regression and frustration, needing a skilled trainer to help him learn how to interact appropriately with other dogs and manage his protective instincts. Axel is eager to bond and is ready for the right home that can nurture his strengths while guiding him through his challenges. This adaptable soul truly has the potential to thrive in the right environment. Is your home the one he’s been waiting for? Click apply to start the adoption process.
