About Max

Max is an adult male Australian Shepherd, about 4.5 years old and weighing around 50 pounds. He’s a loyal and playful companion but needs an owner familiar with the unique quirks of this breed. He’s house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. Max is good with recall and loves to go for walks and hikes. However, he's wary of strangers and can nip at children, so he isn’t suited for homes with kids under 12. He should also not live with cats, rabbits, or any small animals—other dogs are fine. When meeting new people, it’s best if they ignore Max initially until he feels comfortable enough to approach them himself for pets. He requires a secure fenced area or someone dedicated to keeping him on a leash to ensure his safety. Max is currently waiting for his forever home in Lucedale, MS. Interested in adopting him?
