He’s friendly with cats and gets along well with dogs. Copper’s playful nature and sweet character make him a wonderful companion.
About Copper
Meet Copper, a charming 1-year-old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix with eyes that absolutely captivate. His warm copper-colored eyes and gentle demeanor make him truly special. Copper arrived at the rescue from Charlotte County as an owner surrender, and though he’s initially a bit timid, his playful personality shines through once he feels comfortable. This little guy is house-trained and has been impressively accident-free in his foster home, earning him a gold star! Although he enjoys some crate time, he'd rather be with his human or furry companions, exploring the great outdoors. Copper is curious about other dogs and enjoys meeting new friends. He gets along well with cats too, so long as introductions are handled with care. Although he’s still mastering leash walking and can be a bit picky with food, Copper's learning quickly, especially when kibble is mixed with a bit of wet food. A playful spirit, he loves toys and is a professional burrower when it comes to nap time. While he prefers companionship, another playful dog would be ideal for him. Just a note—he’s not a fan of water, so bath time could be a challenge. Copper is ready for a loving home that offers comfort, toys, and ideally, a canine buddy. If you’re looking for a sweet dog who’s full of personality, Copper could be the one for you!
