Meet Rango! This 1-year-old, 28-pound bundle of joy came to us from a shelter in Tennessee, and he's bursting with energy and excitement for what life has in store. Rango is a social guy who thrives on human interaction and is very treat-motivated, which will be key as he learns basic manners. While he’s making progress, Rango is still working on impulse control and can get overly excited, especially when leaving his kennel. His new family should expect plenty of jumping and wiggling, as he brings a puppy-like enthusiasm to his new home. Having spent his first year in a living room without regular access to outdoor areas, Rango may not be the best fit for first-time dog owners. His adopters need to be ready to invest time and patience into teaching basic obedience, house manners, and housetraining. A consistent routine, positive reinforcement, and ample mental and physical activities will be essential for helping him thrive. Rango gets along well with dogs, showing playful interest in his shelter pals, but his enthusiastic greetings mean a gradual introduction will be key.
