Basalt is a charming purebred miniature Dachshund, recently released from a commercial breeder. He was born on April 10, 2026, and already exhibits the playful nature typical of puppies. His adorable face mask is just a glimpse of his delightful personality that is expected to thrive in foster care. As a lively puppy, Basalt has plenty of energy and sharp little teeth, so he’ll need appropriate chew toys and outlets for his playful spirit. He gets along with small and medium-sized dogs but we aren't sure about his feelings toward larger dogs. For his forever home, Basalt will thrive in a space with a securely fenced yard, since he is not yet leash trained. It would be ideal for him to have a resident dog as a mentor and playmate.
