While he could gain a little weight, what Rufus really seeks is the security of a forever home where he feels safe and cherished. This kind gentleman has a relaxed demeanor, making companionship feel effortless. He’s sweet, gentle, and eager to please, thriving in the company of people. Rufus has shown he’s great with children and gets along well with other dogs, making him a versatile addition to any family. With some nice manners to boot, Rufus walks well on a leash, knows how to “sit,” and takes treats gently. He’s past the lively puppy stage and is ready to enjoy the quieter life — think leisurely strolls, cozy spots to nap, and delicious meals shared with his loved ones. Rufus is also part of our Seniors for Seniors Program, allowing adopters aged 65 and older to adopt him for just $25. This also includes yearly vaccines and heartworm prevention for life, along with end-of-life services when necessary.
