About Dixie
Meet Dixie, a 4–5-year-old Cattle Dog with a gentle spirit. Weighing about 40 lbs, she’s spent time in foster care and is gradually learning that the world is a safe place. Dixie gets along well with dogs of all sizes and has been spayed. She’s house trained, crate trained, and is good in the car. While she walks nicely on a leash, she is still learning. Dixie is quite shy, especially around new people, and needs an understanding family willing to take their time. Once trust is established, her affectionate nature shines through. Having likely spent many years in a kennel, she has started to discover what it means to be a treasured pet, enjoying walks, relaxing at home, and cuddling on the couch. A secure yard would be great for her. Dixie is ideal for someone looking for a sweet companion who may need a bit of time to adjust but will offer unconditional love once comfortable. She deserves a loving, patient family to help her blossom. Currently, Dixie is in foster care in Barstow but can travel for a meet and greet. Please, share her story—she may be waiting for the right person just like you!
