About Rook
Meet Rook. Rook is a brilliant survivor, transitioning from life in a laboratory to the comfort of a loving foster home. His past has left him understandably fearful of people, but there's a playful spirit within him just waiting to emerge. After several months of being nurtured in foster care, Rook is beginning to trust and show his joyful side. However, potential adopters should know that Rook will need time, patience, and commitment to truly feel comfortable. This sweet dog adores his canine companions—both large and small. He requires a confident, gentle dog as a partner to help him learn that the world can be an inviting place. Rook is housetrained via a doggie door but needs a securely fenced yard to play and explore safely. A calm household is ideal for him, and if children are present, they must be mature and respectful. Rook is still working through his comfort with human affection, so he isn’t ready for close interactions just yet. He's currently learning leash training as well, so it’s important that his adopter can provide guidance and encouragement without rushing him. For a family ready to invest the time and care, Rook promises to deliver plenty of love as he flourishes into the confident dog we know he can be. Please remember that many dogs, especially those with Rook's background, can experience regression when moving to a new home. Adequate understanding and patience during this adjustment period are crucial. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
