Meet Shaggy! This handsome honey-colored Shih Tzu has quite the comeback story. When Shaggy arrived at the shelter, years of neglect had left his coat so severely matted that no one could even tell what breed—or what sex—he was. After a full shave-down, he lost an incredible 2 pounds of matted fur. Despite everything he’s been through, Shaggy is a happy boy filled with love. He adores his people and is ready to make up for lost time enjoying the affection he missed. Recently, he had a dental procedure and lost a few teeth, but he’s feeling much better now. Shaggy gets along with other dogs, though he’d truly love to be your one and only. He appears to be housebroken, knows how to use a dog door, and enjoys spending time outdoors. Seeing a leash makes him downright giddy, so a family that enjoys walks would make his day! One thing to know about Shaggy: he growls when he communicates. It’s how he talks and isn’t a sign of aggression. After being overlooked for years, Shaggy is ready for a family who will cherish him for all he is. Could that be you?
