About Moose
Meet Mr. Moose, a special little guy on a remarkable journey. Found hiding under a vehicle, he was scared and covered in painful mats, dealing with a severe flea infestation and luxating patellas, or “slipping kneecaps,” in both back legs. After undergoing corrective surgery at VRCCO in Bend, Oregon, Moose is now healed and learning that life can be quite wonderful. Moose enjoys playing with his foster sister Clover, and watching them together is heartwarming. He's discovered the joy of squeaky toys and is more than happy to curl up on the couch after a fun play session. While Moose can be shy and cautious with new people and experiences, he has a playful spirit waiting to shine once he feels safe. He needs a calm, adult-only home where he can adjust at his own pace. His new family must be dedicated to continuing his training, helping him build confidence and strengthen their bond. Moose is house trained, but occasional accidents can happen during the transition to a new environment. Safety is key for Moose. He will need to be leashed every time he goes outside, as a new home might frighten him and cause him to bolt. He’s looking for someone who understands that trust takes time, and the best part of adopting a dog like Moose is the rewarding process of watching him grow more confident. The dog who once hid can now play happily and be close to the people he trusts. Moose may take a little time to choose you, but with patience, you could become his forever home. If you offer a quiet environment, humor, and room on your couch, Moose could be the little companion you've been waiting for. His hardest days are behind him, and now he just needs someone to help him enjoy the rest of his days. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
