Sparkie 💜 🇨🇦 is a lively Rat Terrier, estimated to be around 6-8 years old and weighing in at 24 lbs. This charming little guy loves playtime, especially with his favorite ball or during a game of tug on rainy days. He walks well on a leash and enjoys exploring outside. While he can be leash reactive, he generally gets along well with dogs that are calm around him and has made several furry friends in his neighborhood. Though he can live happily as an only dog, he does not get along with cats. Sparkie is great with respectful children visiting his home, though a busy household with lots of traffic might not be ideal for him due to his sensitivity to chaos. He has a balanced energy level, enjoying play and walks but also knows how to settle down when asked. At night, he loves curling up beside his favorite person, and he’s house trained, sleeping peacefully through the night without rushing to go out in the morning. He does well alone for 5-6 hours, making himself comfortable while waiting for your return. Sparkie is excellent in the car, staying quiet and often napping on longer rides. He shows affection by cuddling under blankets and enjoys watching you as he covers himself up to take a nap. Sparkie is smart and learns quickly, especially if there are tasty snacks involved. He just needs his weight monitored, as Rat Terriers can gain easily. Grooming him is minimal, and he cooperates well during nail trimming. He is ready to be a loyal companion and has plenty of love to give. Make his next chapter his best one yet!
