Meet Howser, a charming 14-year-old Shih Tzu who’s ready to find his forever retirement home. Weighing in at 20 pounds, Howser enjoys meandering around the house as if he has important business to attend to, interspersed with well-deserved naps. He thrives on head scratches and butt rubs, proving that age doesn’t diminish his capacity for love and joy. Howser is dog-friendly and can happily be the only pet or share his space with a canine companion. He walks well on a leash, but needs a gentle touch to get it on him. Though he loves attention and affection, he’s best placed in a home with kids aged 12 and up or in an adult-only environment. His experience with cats is currently unknown. This distinguished elder has some quirks. He is partially blind and has some weakness in his back legs, so his ideal home should allow him to move at his own pace. A fenced yard and potential ramps for steps would be beneficial. He may have occasional accidents while learning to use belly bands.
