Meet Jay! Jay is a playful three-month-old Coonhound and Labrador Retriever mix weighing in at about 20 lbs. Despite his potential adult size, he thinks of himself as a lap dog, relishing cuddles and affection from his human family. Jay enjoys romping with other dogs and is quite sociable, getting along well with cats and even caged birds. He is not aggressive with food or toys, making him a great companion. Toys spark his joy—whether crinkly, squeaky, or simply balls to chase, he loves them all. Although he might not fetch yet, Jay excels at tug-of-war and believes socks and shoes make for delightful playthings, so it's best to keep them out of his reach. Jay is already crate trained and will happily enter his crate with the promise of a treat. He keeps his space clean as long as he has regular opportunities to go outside. His leash walks are full of excitement as he explores the world around him, and he's shown he can ride well in a car. While he’s still mastering house training, he uses puppy pads successfully to help mitigate accidents. Although not yet fully obedience trained, he can sit on command and is eager to learn, making him suitable for a family ready to invest in his training. A fenced yard would be ideal for Jay, allowing him to burn off his puppy energy safely. He is up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives, and he’s heartworm negative.
