About Penny

Penny is a sweet little girl looking to leave her tough past behind and discover a life filled with love and safety. This young Dachshund/Chihuahua mix, also known as a chiweenie, weighs 13 pounds and is around 1 year old. Found as a stray in Houston, Texas, she was pregnant and scared, then taken to a high-kill shelter, which understandably left her frightened and confused. Now she’s ready for a brighter future in Colorado. Penny may initially be a bit shy due to her past, but once she feels secure, her gentle and friendly personality truly shines. She thrives in the company of other dogs, making her a great companion for both humans and furry friends. She's looking for a patient adopter who will give her the space to acclimate and the love she deserves. A consistent environment with plenty of exercise and engagement will help her thrive. Penny will benefit from positive reinforcement training to build her confidence and solidify good behaviors. Penny is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and has been fully vetted, healthy and heartworm negative. She is ready for adoption, so let’s give her the forever home she’s been waiting for.
