Meet Claire, a sweet adult Yorkshire Terrier at Wayside's Canine Behavior Center. She's on a journey to gain confidence after coming from a puppy mill, which makes her need a patient and loving home. Though she’s still learning the ropes, Claire has a calm demeanor and is described as gentle. She’s currently enrolled in Confidence College, a program designed to help her adjust to her new life. This comes with a complimentary 30-minute private training session to get you both started on the right paw. Claire needs a home with another small dog, ideally 20 lbs or less, to show her how to navigate city life. It's important for her to meet the other dogs in your home before adoption, as she enjoys their company especially during playtime. Due to her timid nature around new people and loud noises, a home with kids aged 6 years and older would be ideal. A fenced yard is essential, as she isn't trained on a leash yet. You'll also need a martingale collar for her safety and to transport her in a travel carrier. Low traffic is preferred to keep her anxiety in check.
