Avra is a remarkable German Shepherd and Labrador mix, looking for a loving home in the NY, NJ, CT, or PA area, ideally within a three-hour drive of NYC. At seven years old, Avra embodies loyalty and calmness. She gets along beautifully with children and other dogs, making her a perfect family companion. Rescued from the streets of Crete, she has overcome much adversity and now radiates a special spirit that's hard not to love. Following a rough past, including being abandoned, Avra has made a powerful recovery. After undergoing medical procedures to address her health issues, she is now spayed, vaccinated, and parasite-free, fully ready for her forever home. Avra thrives on companionship, often following her human around like a shadow, and she enjoys being close to those she loves. While she is adaptable to being a single pet or having a well-matched male companion, she has a gentle nature and a playful spirit that makes her a delight around kids. In her time with us, Avra has shown resilience and a joyful demeanor, often entertaining her caregivers with her playful antics and sweet expressions. She walks well on a leash, especially alongside children, and is a pro at car rides. Although not fully off-leash trained, she stays close and listens well.
